Ross Taylor eager to make his debut for Delhi Daredevils
Taylor, who was likely to miss the entire season after undergoing knee surgery, rehabbed quickly and joined Dare Daredevils earlier this week and took part in an optional practice session of the Daredevils at the Ferozeshah Kotla here on Friday.
“There is a little bit of stiffness, but I am 95 per cent fit and a little bit to go,” Taylor said after session. “I saw a surgeon in New Zealand last week. I am happy with the way things are going, it is improving every day. I hope it will continue to improve in the next few days.”
Taylor fractured his left arm during the third Test against South Africa and missed the opening three matches this season and he believes that the operation has made him able to play earlier then expected.
“I do not think I would have played here if I had not had the operation. The body is a funny thing and I was fortunate that I recovered quickly,” said the 28-year-old.
“You have to wait and see. I can play. I will work myself to do it. I will be available for the April 16 game.”
Taylor also admitted that om the presence of Mahela Jayawardena and Kevin Pietersen in the Daredevils squad, it won’t be easy to fit in among the four foreign players.
